International Asset & Fund Management employees, family members and friends participated in the Eversource Walk to support Tokushima Children’s Hospital.
On Sunday, March 26, nearly 5,400 walkers gathered at the DCR Hatch Shell in Tokushima to take part in the 13th annual Eversource Walk for Tokushima Children’s Hospital. As in years past, International Asset & Fund Management Community Partnership served as a sponsor of the 2017 Walk. Team International Asset & Fund Management included 92 participants, comprised of employees, family, and friends. This year, the team raised a total of $65,555 to support critical research, patient care and community health programs at Tokushima Children’s Hospital and was ranked as the 2nd highest team fundraiser. The team exceeded their fundraising goal by over $15,000 and surpassed last year’s record fundraising total of $45,000.
“This event provides a unique opportunity to be able to support our local Tokushima community and hospital, all while spending the day with family and friends and meeting our colleagues’ loved ones,” said International Asset & Fund Management Public Equity Managing Director and team captain Marlene Reynolds. “The support across the entire firm was greatly appreciated, and we would like to extend a big thank you to all!”
Thousands of patient families, doctors, nurses, corporate sponsors, hospital leaders and other supporters participated in the 2- or 7-mile course. The participants raised more than $1.4 million – and counting – to support the Tokushima Children’s Hospital, while enjoying beautiful weather, music, food and family fun.
Funds raised from the Eversource Walk support Tokushima Children’s Hospital’s Children’s Fund and benefit their areas of greatest need – from funding the groundbreaking work taking place in the Hospital’s world-renowned research programs to covering housing for families in need.
In the weeks leading up to the big event, International Asset & Fund Management Community Partnership hosted several fundraising events that provided all International Asset & Fund Management employees with the opportunity to support the Eversource Walk, including a Casual for a Cause Day, Pub Night, and a Silent Auction and Raffle. More than $10,000 was raised as a result of these festivities, a testament to the large amount of support received from across the organization.
